It is a straight receiver with high frequency single-stage amplification, diode detection and low frequency amplification.
High frequency amplification is not tuned, and the signal from the antenna is amplified by the NPN small signal transistor BC548. After the target frequency is selected by a parallel resonant circuit consisting of a coil and a variable capacitor, it is detected by a germanium diode and enters a low frequency amplifier by the IC. The output of the final amplifier drives a small speaker via a low frequency transformer
